Melbourne - Data Capture Experts announced the appointment of three new board directors; Vicki Gillespie, John Papatheohari and Andrew Harris.

A fast-growing technology company focused on building industry-leading products for healthcare, Data Capture Experts has appointed three new board directors to accelerate the company’s growth, innovation, and geographic expansion.

Vicki Gillespie has been appointed as DCE Chair, bringing 25 years of commercial experience in a variety of healthcare environments including Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical markets across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.

'I feel very privileged to take on this role at such an exciting time for our industry.' said Gillespie. 'The needs of DCE’s clients, staff and regulators are changing rapidly. DCE is dealing with these changes in thoughtful and innovative ways.'

Along with directing High-Performance teams and Global Partnership Management with clients including Cancer Council Queensland, Essity, NeedleCalm, MyScoreit, Bioventus and Innovgas, Gillespie is on the board of The Confident Girls Foundation, while also running her own successful eCommerce business.

Gillespie says her focus will be on business relationships.  'I’ll be ensuring the development and maintenance of sound, respectful and productive relationships with key stakeholders.'

‘Currently, healthcare providers are asked to do more with less.’ said DCE Co-founder and CTO Nalaka Withanage. ‘They’re experiencing stretched resources and increased regulatory compliance, and demand for fit-for-purpose, care-coordination software within the healthcare sector has never been higher.’

He adds, ‘Our platform enables processes to be streamlined and information to be securely shared across the hospital, clinic and the home, setting a new standard that meets today's challenges.’

John Papatheohari joins the DCE board, having spent the past eleven years as a CIO and Executive Business Partner across both public and private health services. Papatheohari previously held Management Consultant roles leading regional practices within Australia and overseas, setting up and growing businesses with a digital transformation focus. His board positions include Chair of the Benalla board, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, Mallee Track Health and Community Service and Distinctive Options. He is also a Chisholm Institute Board sub-committee member and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

'John brings a wealth of knowledge in the digital health space.' said Bishma Jayasinghe, DCE Co-Founder and COO. 'He has delivered digital transformations with tangible benefits on patient experience and service delivery improvements in all areas of health, and we are thrilled to have John’s expertise and guidance this year.'

Papatheohari says 'I’ll be bringing my experience of working within primary care, acute, allied health, and community-based settings to the table to oversee the interoperability of our products, and look forward to the challenges that lay ahead.'

DCE’s third board appointee is Andrew Harris of Harris Carlson Lawyers who represents a broad scope of clients in commercial law, ranging from large multi-national private companies to high-wealth individuals and Federal Government bodies. He has acted as General Counsel for a multi-national and publicly listed technology company, as well as currently serving as director of AFL Club, North Melbourne.

'I’ve been the primary legal adviser to DCE for the past few years, so I was eager to join the board.' said Harris. 'With my experience across corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, IT, franchising, employment, intellectual property and general contractual matters, I’m confident that my contributions will be valuable to DCE.'

Nalaka Withanage noted, ‘I’m excited about this next phase of Data Capture Experts. With Vicki, John and Andrew bringing valuable industry expertise to the board, we are excited for the future growth of DCE, not only for our customers but for our teams as well.’
